Flirting with Forever is a friends-to-lovers romance and it's the latest release from bestselling author Kendall Ryan. Camden, Jack, and Natalie have been the best of friends since they became lab partners back in sophomores in high school. Their friendship has been such a constant in all of their lives. When one of them needs a shoulder to lean on, they know they'll have each other that they can count on. So, when Jack's girlfriend breaks things off with him, Cam decides to make a bet of sorts--they both make a vow of celibacy and whoever breaks first will have to do the laundry of the other for a whole year. With Cam's busy schedule as a pediatrician and not having enough time for a personal life, what more hooking up with someone, it seems like an easy enough vow to make. But then he starts having thoughts about their other best friend. Nat holds such a special place in both Cam's and Jack's hearts, but things among the three of them have always been nothing more than platonic. So, why is it that Cam can't seem to help wanting more from Nat? Can he really cross a line he and Jack swore they wouldn't at sixteen?

This was a lighthearted, fun-filled story about friendship and falling in love with your best friend. I liked the commitment that Cam, Jack, and Nat had for one another, and how it seemed as if there was nothing romantic about any of their feelings for so long. They've all had their own relationships with other people and, yet their bond is the biggest and continuing commitment they all share. Everything plays out basically as you would expect it in this sort of story. The platonic to romantic has almost always had two people who are close friends--with baring levels of closeness--that end up becoming more. In the case of the story here, there weren't any real surprises, and that was both a good and not-so-good thing; the former because nothing terrible in terms of story or characters really stood out, and the latter because when it comes to a trope that has as many books written under it, I always hope for something fresh and different to be offered up to me, and there wasn't much of that. Overall, Flirting with Forever was a read that had me pretty entertained for the hour and a half I read it. Four stars. ♥
