Review: My Big, Fat Bloodsucker Wedding by Bella Jacobs (The Wonderfully Witches of Nightfall, New Hampshire #1)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author.

My Big, Fat Bloodsucker Wedding is my first read from Bella Jacobs, and I do believe it also happens to be the first in a new paranormal romantic comedy series entitled The Wonderfully Witches of Nightfall, New Hampshire. It's been quite a while since I last read a rom-com that had a paranormal slant to it, so this a welcome change from the heavier fare that's been gracing my reading app as of late. This is the story of a witch and a vampire who conspire to put a stop to the upcoming nuptials of her sister and his brother, respectively. That's easier said than done, of course, but Blaire Wonderfully and Darcy Blackmore know all too well that Lizzy and Colin aren't in love with each other. Sure, the whole idea of self-sacrifice for the sake of their town may be noble and all, but there has to be another way. Blaire and Darcy are determined to do what's right by Lizzy and Colin, even if it means pretending to be madly in love. But that was before real feelings came along.

I love it when an introduction to a new-to-me author clicks with me, and that was exactly what Bella Jacobs's My Big, Fat Bloodsucker Wedding did. I enjoyed Blaire and Darcy's story immensely! They had this awesome type of chemistry between them, and all that banter was so darn entertaining. The fake relationship trope isn't a go-to for me, but Jacobs splendidly brought creativity and originality into this series starter, and I'd have to be cold-hearted to not have fallen for her My Big, Fat Bloodsucker Wedding. 4.5 stars!
