Review: Perfectly Equipped by Lacey Silks (Perfectly #0.5)

Perfectly Equipped is a prequel novella for the upcoming full-length novel entitled Perfectly Damaged by author Lacey Silks. Readers are introduced to April, a widowed mother of a young son vacationing with her well-meaning best friend at, of all places, a nudist resort in Hawaii. There she meets Sean, a good looking man around the same age as her and who totally contradicts the saying "Big things come in small packages." The attraction is mutual and instantaneous but there's also a sizzling connection between the these two people, one that leads to a night that neither Sean nor April are bound to forget any time soon.

This is a very quick read but one that certainly makes you want to learn more about what happens to April and Sean, especially with the kind of ending that it had. The humor mixed in with the steaminess of the story is quintessential Lacey Silks, since that was something I noticed as well in her Cheaters Anonymous novel. I've read the blurb for Perfectly Seduced and suffice it to say that it seems that there's really more going on with Sean than meets the eye and I can't wait to read the book, which releases in just a little over two weeks' time. Perfectly Equipped stirs the proverbial pot just enough to get you going. Four stars! ♥

Review: The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan (Roommates #1)

I do believe I've found myself a new book boyfriend to drool, erm, swoon over in Cannon Roth, male main character in bestselling author Kendall Ryan's Roommates series starter, The Room Mate . This had a familiar romance trope--falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling--and yet I didn't find it boring or tiresome in any way. This has both heart and heat as well as lighthearted humor along with a bit of heart-tugging angst and it's headlined by a couple of main characters that I was totally smitten with from the moment Paige got a pretty good idea of just how much her best friend's younger brother Cannon had grown up from the nerdy boy who followed them around like a puppy when they were kids.
