Review: Fatal Chaos by Marie Force (Fatal #12)

Note: This ARC was provided by the author via InkSlinger PR in exchange for an honest review.

I know I'm still behind on writing reviews for the second to the tenth books in the Fatal series (sorry!), but I didn't want to make myself even further behind, so I'm posting my review for the latest release, Fatal Chaos, and the months-long wait for Metro PD Lieutenant Samantha Holland Cappuano and US Vice President Nicholas Cappuano to make their return on bookshelves--digital and traditional--was well worth it! From the sizzling chemistry that Sam and Nick share to the edge-of-your-seat thrill ride that each of Sam's cases takes readers on, this series is a personal favorite, and I know I'm not the only one who's fallen for this tenacious cop and her reluctant politician.

This newest book may begin with the Cappuano family and those nearest and dearest to them on vacation, but before too long, the reality of their lives comes crashing back. Sam finds herself in the middle of a case involving random shootings in the metro while Nick is still waiting to see whether the president will step down or not after his son was arrested in connection with the events in the previous novel, Fatal Threat. In the midst of everything that may be happening around them, Nick and Sam strive to remain the family that they are with their son Scotty while juggling all their professional responsibilities. Can Nick and Sam make through the latest chaos in their lives?

I'm not going to be handing out spoilers in this review of mine. Nick and Sam--one of my all-time favorite fictional couples--are forces to be reckoned with individually, but suffice it to say that neither one of them would ever allow the other to face a challenge alone. So, this book highlights just how formidable their love for each other and their family is. The killings in this particular book, though, broke my heart, and I was close to tears at one particular point. Marie Force has consistently balanced the romantic and suspenseful aspects of this addictive series, but she's also managed to level up with each new release. Make sure to read Fatal in order! Five stars for Fatal Chaos. ♥
