Review: Sin with Me by JA Huss & Johnathan McClain (Original Sin #1)

Note: This ARC was provided by the authors via Give Me Books Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

Talk about leaving one hell of an impression! Sin with Me is my first read from JA Huss (I know--I am a poor excuse for a romance reader!), which also happens to be the first in the Original Sin series she's co-writing with author, actor, and award-winning narrator Johnathan McClain. By the time I was done reading it, I was left wanting much, much more and in an absolutely good way. Because I've never read anything by Huss before, I went into this without any idea what her writing was like. Here's the thing: I couldn't tell who wrote what, and I'm not the type to assume that Huss wrote the female main character's point-of-view, and McClain the male main character's. There's a near seamless feel when the viewpoints changed, which speaks quite highly for these two, especially given that this is the first time that they've worked together. If this is a sign of things to come, then I best prepare myself by making sure I've either got the air conditioner or an electric fan on the whole time because this book had some sizzling hot sex scenes plus I'll need a whole lot of patience while waiting in between each one of the four books.

This first book has thirty-year-old Tyler Morgan, a former explosive ordnance disposal specialist in the military whose invention netted him a whole lot of money from the government, and twenty-five-year-old Madison Clayton, a stripper who goes by the name of Scarlett. When they lock eyes for the first time, the connection is palpable and intriguing, and when these two finally explore said connection, it proves to be a life-changing one. There's a particular twist to the story that I guessed right about halfway through, but the manner in which it was revealed left me gripping my tablet tightly because I knew it was getting close to the end of the book and everything between Tyler and Maddie had gotten unbelievably tense AND intense. Gaaaaah! I confess that it took me a few chapters before I found myself totally immersed in the story and these two main characters. Once I was in, however, there was simply no turning back. I need more of Tyler and Maddie, and I wish I could explain why, but I can't without spilling details that may end up becoming spoilery. Simply put, Sin with Me is a five-starred starter! ♥
