Review: The Difference Between Someday and Forever by Aly Martinez (The Difference #3)

Note: An advance review copy (ARC) was provided by the author.

Aly Martinez has had a habit of putting my heart through the wringer with every book of hers that ends up in my grabby hands, but this most recent trilogy of hers is certainly one of the most remarkable she's written. The Difference is all about Remi Grey and Bowen Michaels, and the first two books in the series, The Difference Between Somebody and Someone and The Difference Between Somehow and Someway, showcased how devoted Bowen was to Remi, and how much Remi had fallen for Bowen. But there were obstacles that they would have no choice but to get through. In The Difference Between Someday and Forever, the third and final novel in the trilogy, loving each other was never something that Remi and Bowen questioned, but being together for the rest of their lives may not have been as foregone a conclusion after all.

After that cliffhanger in the second book--and what an evil cliffhanger it was!--I was counting the days until I could get the conclusion to the Difference series on my tablet because I seriously needed to know how everything would work out. Aly Martinez certainly didn't make things easy for Remi and Bowen. The situation at the end of book two was one thing, but then they had to deal with everything that had been kept from Remi. These two had to know the difference between then and now (see what I did there?) and learn how to embrace the past in hopes of walking into a future together. I love that everybody who deserved to get a happily-ever-after did, but most of all, I was happy that Bowen's love, patience, and dedication prevailed because he and Remi belonged together. Le sigh. Five stars for The Difference Between Someday and Forever.
