Review: My Famous Frenemy by Piper Rayne (The Greene Family #6)

Umm, where can I get a Gavin Price of my own and will I have to fight Posey Greene for him? Piper Rayne have raised the bar as far as romantic male main characters are concerned with Gavin, making many a reader wish they had their own famous frenemy. The writing duo's sixth book in their Greene Family series is all about Posey, who is the second youngest among the entire joint Greene brood and is the youngest daughter at twenty-four and has her own salon, Fringe, and Gavin, a successful child actor turned famous teen star who's been on hiatus for a couple of years, spending that time falling in love with the small Alaskan town of Sunrise Bay. He was her celebrity crush growing up, and his interest in dating her is the stuff of dreams...until she learns that Gavin is running against her mom as Sunrise Bay's next mayor.

My Famous Frenemy may sound like an enemies-to-lovers romance, but Posey and Gavin were never really enemies. Okay, fine, Posey may have considered the guy an enemy after she discovers he's her mom's opponent in the race for mayor of Sunrise Bay, but Gavin never really saw Posey in the same light. And I think that was one of my favorite things about these two and their story. Posey had a habit of taking the fact she and Gavin were on opposite sides seriously, while Gavin made a point of stressing it was nothing personal and that sleeping with the "enemy" wouldn't be such a bad thing. There's a lot of humor here, but there are also bites of angst that tugged on my heartstrings, especially when it came to Gavin's back story. I adored Posey and Gavin and the rest of the Greenes, and this gets 4.5 stars.
