Review: Ruthless Rookie by Rachel Leigh (Cocky Hero Club)

Ruthless Rookie is my latest read in the multi-author Cocky Hero Club that is inspired by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward's Cocky Bastard series. This is the second book from Rachel Leigh that I've read, and I'm happy to say report that this author is no one-hit wonder as far as I'm concerned. Leigh delivers an entertaining romance featuring two main characters who have pasts that haunt them and find freedom with each other, but will they discover something more as well or will secrets prevent them from a happy ending?

This was a pretty quick read--well, quick for me--but Rachel Leigh doesn't hold back, giving readers a story that's got heart and heat. Mira Glasson and Sawyer Rhodes had some sizzling chemistry, and I appreciated that the author didn't dilly-dally when it came to resolving the fact the whole mistaken identity thing. Also, kudos to Leigh for not making this your typical poor-little-rich-girl story. I loved that Mira was someone who wanted to prove herself and refused to be kept shackled to her past, with Sawyer coming into her life at the right time. Loved it. Four stars for Ruthless Rookie.
