Review: Finding Ronan's Heart by Melanie Moreland (Vested Interest: ABC Corp #2)

Finding Ronan's Heart is the second novel in the Vested Interest: ABC Corp series, and I found a whole lot of heart (plus humor and heat!) courtesy of Melanie Moreland's wonderful writing. This can be read independently of the series starter, My Saving Grace, but why do that when both these lovely romances are so darn worthy of being perused?

Ronan Callaghan has gotten used to being overlooked. He's the eldest among his triplet brothers, and he's got two older siblings as well. He's the protector and mediator, the one that always puts his wants and needs on hold for the sake of his family and loved ones. Then he meets a beautiful, independent waitress Ronan wants to keep to and for himself.

Elizabeth Jones has so much on her plate that she doesn't have time for dating. But Ronan Callaghan went from her customer to someone she wouldn't mind getting to know better. Beth's younger brother, her best friend, and her best friend's daughter are just as smitten. He says he's all in, but could the amazingly wonderful man be holding something back? 

There was just so much to love about Ronan and Beth's story! These two were fantastic main characters, and I appreciated their back stories as well as getting glimpses of their individual lives as they were coming together as a couple. The challenges they faced weren't surprising, but there were other aspects that caught me off-guard in the best way.

Aside from the romance, I loved the element of family and how both Ronan and Beth had close-knit ones yet had struggles that someone could empathize with. Ronan being a middle child and feeling alone even in as crowded a family (immediate and extended) as his was something I easily related to. 

Reading the first two Vested Interest: ABC Corp books has me seriously needing to make time to check out the interconnected series that came before this newer series, i.e. Vested Interest. But before that, I'm already itching for the third and fourth Vested Interest: ABC Corp books because I'm quite addicted and invested! Five stars for Finding Ronan's Heart.

Review: The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan (Roommates #1)

I do believe I've found myself a new book boyfriend to drool, erm, swoon over in Cannon Roth, male main character in bestselling author Kendall Ryan's Roommates series starter, The Room Mate . This had a familiar romance trope--falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling--and yet I didn't find it boring or tiresome in any way. This has both heart and heat as well as lighthearted humor along with a bit of heart-tugging angst and it's headlined by a couple of main characters that I was totally smitten with from the moment Paige got a pretty good idea of just how much her best friend's younger brother Cannon had grown up from the nerdy boy who followed them around like a puppy when they were kids.
