Review: Good Intentions by Ella Frank (Intentions #2)

I've been itching to find out what happens next between Gabriel Romero and Marcus St. James, especially after that cliffhanger ending that left readers wondering how Marcus would salvage what was turning out to be a promising beginning to something more with Gabe. Well, Good Intentions is finally out and Ella Frank does not disappoint with the second and final book in her Intentions duet. Just a quick FYI: Bad Intentions (book one) MUST be read prior to Good Intentions because of Gabe and Marcus' continuing story line.

Marcus St. James is at a loss after Gabriel Romero hangs up on him, a phenomenon in itself considering the former can't quite recall the last time anyone had ever done that to him. Gabe made it clear that he wasn't thrilled over Marcus' lack of communication. Marcus has never had to chase a man he was interested in, but the thoughts and feelings that Gabe has been stirring in him inspire him to push beyond his boundaries. But with their twenty-year age difference and career-related decisions, could they go the distance?

Who doesn't love a story that shows the growth and development of the main characters from the first book to the second book? I also love, love, LOVE that Ella Frank spared readers from the usual communication issues between Gabe and Marcus that often tends to be a point of contention in romance reads. Yes, they had hurdles to get over, but I appreciated that these two were mature enough to recognize the importance of communication. Good Intentions left me feeling good AND giddy. This receives five stars.

Review: The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan (Roommates #1)

I do believe I've found myself a new book boyfriend to drool, erm, swoon over in Cannon Roth, male main character in bestselling author Kendall Ryan's Roommates series starter, The Room Mate . This had a familiar romance trope--falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling--and yet I didn't find it boring or tiresome in any way.
