Review: Unicorn Untamed by Lin Reynolds

I’m what you would call an equal opportunity reader, meaning I’ll read almost everything. I’m not picky when it comes to genre, with my basic minimum requirement being my interest being piqued. Of course, quality of writing is a big deal for me, but I only get to see that once I begin reading, unless you’re an author whose work I’m familiar with. Now, there’s a point to everything I’ve said so far. Inasmuch as I love to read and I read both fiction and non-fiction, my book blog is mostly about the stories that I’ve read that are under the romance genre—and that’s a rather huge umbrella where many sub-genres fall under. So, when the opportunity to read AND review a non-fiction book from a debut author came along, I decided it was time to pop my non-fiction reviewing cherry, and it’s for Unicorn Untamed penned by Lin Reynolds.

For the record, I had no clue that Lin Reynolds is related to a certain bestselling author whose books are lined up on both my actual and virtual bookshelves! I only learned of that tidbit when I saw said author’s post on Instagram about Reynolds’ book release and birthday. Having said that, I can see it now. They have certain similar features, and have a wicked sense of humor, as evidenced by this debut release of Reynolds’s. She shares her experiences and offers up her nuggets of advice and wisdom with aplomb and in lighthearted fashion. Reynolds makes you feel as if you’re her girlfriend and you’re chatting on a regular day in the comfort of wherever you may be reading. She eases you into each topic, and she never made me feel as if she was lecturing me, which I so appreciate. Unicorn Untamed was a joy to read. 4.5 stars. ♥
