Review: Love Profound by Kelly Elliott (Cowboys & Angels #2)

Note: This ARC was provided by the author via InkSlinger PR in exchange for an honest review.

Bestselling author Kelly Elliott's Cowboys & Angels got off to an impressive start with the second chance romance between Steed Parker and Paxton Monroe Lost Love. She's back with her second offering, this time, with Steed's sister and the youngest in the Parker brood, Amelia, pursuing her own happily-ever-after with Wade Adams, one of her brother Trevor's closest friend. She's a romance author, so she's no stranger to happy endings...unless they're her own. You see, Amelia doesn't think that one's in the offing for her, not after the heartbreak she's experienced. Wanting what her parents have shouldn't seem like such an impossibility, but that's certainly what it's beginning to feel like. Why is it that she can have the characters in her books find love and happiness but she can't make it happen for herself? But then comes along a cowboy who makes a habit of calling her "darlin'" as well as making her feel things she hasn't felt in a while. Wade is drawn to her, but he knows better than to pursue his best friend's sister. Loss is something he's all too familiar with, but maybe with Amelia, the only thing he risks losing is his heart.

The theme of family continues with this second novel in the Cowboys & Angels series and the Parker family truly is one that's quite easy to fall in love with. I'm almost sure that there's at least one thing about them that countless readers of these books will be able to either empathize with or find familiar. Amelia being the youngest has made all her other siblings--her brothers, in particular--VERY protective of her, but then they're actually protective of each other in general. If it took me some time to like Steed in the first book, same went for his sister. Maybe her being the youngest made her think it was okay for her to be as immature as she was, but she certainly didn't win any points with me. It didn't take as long for Amelia to win me over as it did Steed, and this allowed for me to enjoy the whole falling in love with Wade thing. Speaking of Wade, the guy is, hands down, one of my favorite male characters I've come across this year. He's seriously making me want to add "meet a cowboy" on my bucket list, though maybe I should amend it "meet a cowboy like Wade". All in all, Love Profound was a good 4.5-star read. ♥
