Review: Dirtiest Little Secret by Skye Jordan (Quick and Dirty #1)
Note: This ARC was provided by the author via Author's Pal in exchange for an honest review.
When Skye Jordan promises quick and dirty, she gives you quick and dirty and more. Dirtiest Little Secret is the first in her new and aptly named collection of novellas, Quick and Dirty, and it is indeed a pretty quick read, though it does tick in at over a hundred pages, which is actually a tad longer than the quickie reads I'm more familiar with. The increased number of pages isn't a point against the book, especially since the author has written a story that's hot but still has that touch of romance for it. This is NOT an insta-love story, which is something that I was very much thrilled about. This novella looks to be the beginning of something really good from this bestselling author.
Dirtiest Little Secret introduces us to Ava Jennings, a young woman who's worked hard in the family-owned business even though she's constantly overlooked by her misogynistic father. She's set to marry, but when she catches her fiancé cheating on her with not one but two people, she makes it clear she's done with him. Going to a biker bar was supposed to help her get back on that proverbial horse as far as sex is concerned, but meeting a bike mechanic named Isaac both tilts her prim and proper world off its axis while also righting it in a way she never expected. It's simply sex for them, but somehow feels like more. What Ava doesn't know is that Isaac has a secret.

When Isaac sees Ava, he recognizes her as the daughter of his parents' friends, but it's obvious that she has no clue he was the shy guy who had a mad crush on, catching glimpses of her each time his family attended dinners with her family. He knows that all she sees is a mechanic with oil under his fingernails and who gave her the hottest night of sex she's ever had. One night should do...but it doesn't. Isaac wants more of Ava, even though he's beginning to become more invested in his feelings for her, even as she tells him she isn't ready for anything past casual. Maybe he can convince her to change her mind, but what happens when learns he's actually Isaac Banks?
Hot, hot, hot! I loved the chemistry between Isaac and Ava. He brought out a side of her that she either didn't know existed or she kept hidden for far too long, no thanks to her idiot ex. Even though he had achieved success with his garage, there was still this hint of insecurity that lingered from his younger years. Aside from their romance, there was also their respective side stories regarding their families. I do think, though, that the angle regarding the motorcycle club didn't really contribute as much as I thought it was supposed to. Maybe it could have done without it, but it didn't take much away either. Overall, I liked Dirtiest Little Secret and give it 4.5 stars. ♥
