Review: Final Score by Charlie Novak (Off the Pitch #3)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Gay Romance Reviews ARC Team.

Charlie Novak saved the best for last, and with Final Score, she's wrapped up her Off the Pitch series with a story that gave me all the darn feels! Neither Jordan Green nor Félix Trossero were looking for anything serious or permanent. One time should have been more than enough, but then Félix wasn't exactly expecting to cross paths once again with Jordan. The added complication of Félix being the brother of Jordan's boss should have dissuaded these two from hooking up again, but when the connection is as sizzling as theirs, could anyone possibly fault them for giving in again...and again...and again? They swear it's nothing more than physical. There are no promises of commitment, so why is it starting to feel like more for both of them and will can they admit that's what they want?

This book simply ticked off everything on my checklist. From the hurt-comfort aspect, to the sports romance sub-genre, and the age-gap trope meshed together quite wonderfully in a love story that had my full attention from the very beginning till I got to the last page. Jordan and Félix's story wasn't littered with unnecessary drama or distractions. Yes, we have the recurring characters, but this book was truly theirs, as they went from one-time hookups to no-strings-attached lovers to much more than either of them had wanted or claimed to have needed. I've read the Off the Pitch series from the beginning, and it's simply gotten better with every new release. Now I find myself getting all those bittersweet feelings because this trilogy is coming to an end, but it also has me looking forward to whatever Charlie Novak has in store for readers in the future. I'm giving Final Score five out of five stars. ♥
