Review: Deepest Kiss by J. Kenner (Stark Ever After #6)

Deepest Kiss is the latest novella in the Stark Ever After series from bestselling author J. Kenner and has Damien and Nikki Stark celebrating the impending new arrival to their close knit family circle, but when someone from Nikki's past makes an appearance that neither she nor her husband ever saw coming, she's unsure whether she should be welcome or reject them. At the same time, Nikki is faced with questions as to when, if ever, she and Damien will start their own family and have a bundle of joy to take home as well.

This new novella brings with it a bit of mystery, as readers are left wondering as to the identity of the person watching Nikki and what their motivations may be. If you've been following all the novellas, you'll know that Mr. and Mrs. Stark have a blackmailer who has been busily poking and prodding through their respective pasts, as well as the pasts of those closest to them, trying to find the couple's weakness. The question they face is whether Nikki's potential stalker and their blackmailer could be one and the same.

I love Damien. He would do anything for Nikki and ensuring that she remains his number one priority. Nikki is becoming more and more her own woman over the span of the novellas and a lot of that has to do with the knowledge that Damien is there for her to lean on whenever and wherever she may need him. They're one of my all-time favorite couples, but my curiosity is getting the better of me with as far as Jackson Steele and Sylvia Brooks are concerned, so the Stark International series is on my to-be-read list.

Ryan Hunter and Jamie Archer are ever present again, but I certainly wouldn't mind if they have their own full-length novel because they are a fun couple and I'd like to see their relationship progress even further. But of course, the novellas are really all about Damien and Nikki and, like many other Stark fans, I'm looking forward to the time that they'll have a baby or two, but for now, I'm enjoying every single one of their novellas as they continue living their happily-ever-after. Deepest Kiss receives 4.5 stars out of five. ♥

Review: The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan (Roommates #1)

I do believe I've found myself a new book boyfriend to drool, erm, swoon over in Cannon Roth, male main character in bestselling author Kendall Ryan's Roommates series starter, The Room Mate . This had a familiar romance trope--falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling--and yet I didn't find it boring or tiresome in any way. This has both heart and heat as well as lighthearted humor along with a bit of heart-tugging angst and it's headlined by a couple of main characters that I was totally smitten with from the moment Paige got a pretty good idea of just how much her best friend's younger brother Cannon had grown up from the nerdy boy who followed them around like a puppy when they were kids.
