Review: "Untwisted" by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott (Lost in Oblivion #2.5)

Note: This ebook was provided by Fido Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Grayson "Gray" Duffy and Jasmine "Jazz" Edwards are engaged and will be welcoming their first child in just over six months. Career-wise, their band Oblivion is enjoying a lot of success and good publicity, though the rumor mill appears to still be latching on to the whole threesome story like a dog with a bone. Gray is dealing with life after rehab pretty well, focusing on his songwriting for both Oblivion and other bands, earning as much money as he can to pay off debts they've incurred and to save for their life together with their baby. Aside from her weird appetite, Jazz is handling impending motherhood nicely.

When Jazz unexpectedly receives a letter from her younger sister Molly, she isn't sure how to react or what to do about it. Does Molly want to rekindle their relationship or is she merely after a handout now that Oblivion is in the news and earning good money? On Gray's end, his mother wants to be a part of her son's and soon-to-be grandchild's life, but Gray demands that she be accepting of Jazz first. With family members pushing their way into their lives and juggling band and songwriting duties, Gray decides it's time to surprise Jazz with a wedding that she'll never forget...if only they can make it down the aisle.

Untwisted is the second novella and fifth release in the Lost in Oblivion series by authors Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott. This takes place soon after the events of Twisted, the second full-length novel and fourth release, and I do suggest that the books be read in order to better appreciate the history between Jazz and Gray and to fully understand everything they've been through. This was a fairly quick read and focuses on Jazz's and Gray's families and the changes that they're currently facing as an engaged couple with a baby on the way. The other band members do make appearances but the spotlight is truly on Jazz and Gray.

Even in the earlier books, the love and devotion that Gray has for Jazz has always been there and in this novella, he takes it up a notch, wanting their wedding day to be one that his fiancĂ©e will remember for the rest of her life. He really is a thoughtful and loving guy, old demons and all, and Jazz was always it for him and vice-versa. Reading how they handled the intrusion of their family and the past that comes along with it brought with it drama and humor and, as always, a heck of a lot of steam. This was a great addition to the series and makes me excited for Simon's and Nick's stories in the future. Untwisted gets 4.5 stars. ♥

Date read: 22 March 2015
