Tell me something good.
Two people. One day. One love affair to last them a lifetime and beyond.
There are books that, when told, do not need tens of thousands of words or voluminous pages in order to tell a story that evokes a reaction, whether positive or negative, from its readers. The Days Between is one such book. In less than a hundred pages, 76 on my tablet, to be exact, this book made me go through a myriad of emotions: curiosity, happiness, surprise, frustration, anxiety, sadness, and, by the very end, simple understanding and acceptance.
The Days Between is an intense story that makes you stop and wonder what you would do if you were in the situation the lead characters were in. Would you do what they did or would you choose a different path? Did the choices they made make them selfish villains doing whatever pleased them at the expense of others or did they make them daring lovers who were meant to be together but made the most of their limited but fulfilling days together?
I'm pretty sure not everyone will like what the story is essentially about but it is, at its very core, a love story. I wouldn't call it unconventional because the fact is, a love story like this, maybe not in its entirety but in bits and pieces, are familiar to too many of us. When two people feel and believe they're meant to be together, they will find a way, even if it is only over countless, but not all, Wednesdays in their lifetime. The Days Between gets five-plus stars. ♥
