Review: Dirty Rich Cinderella Story: Ever After by Lisa Renee Jones (Dirty Rich #5)

Cole and Lori Brooks are back and fans and readers of how they met and fell in love--Dirty Rich Cinderella Story--see what life is like for the newlyweds. They have an amazing time in Paris, but once they return home, the reality that the honeymoon is over is swift and painfully apparent. The ghosts of the past are back to haunt them, and while they're now a team that can face whatever challenges come their way together, Cole's tendency to take matters into his own hands to protect the woman he loves clashes with Lori's need to be able to stand on her while also realizing that she can lean on her husband...but when trouble heads Cole's way, will he remember that he, too, now has a loving and supportive wife on whom he can lean and rely as well and that two is better than one?
Dirty Rich Cinderella Story: Ever After is basically what happens after the happily-ever-after they got in their first story. I may have liked Lori a wee bit more here than I did in the prior novel, but I'm still not a huge fan of hers. Cole, on the other hand, remains the focal point, at least as far as I'm concerned. That intensity about him remains, and there's no denying that the man commands one's attention--the "one" here being me, of course. I was expecting this to be a short read, something of an extended epilogue to serve as the cherry on top of their story, but nope! Lisa Renee Jones doesn't do things half-baked, and she gave readers a story with meat on its bones, so prepare yourselves for sweet, steam, and suspense all wrapped up in this entertaining read. I'm giving it four stars. ♥
