Review: Suit by BB Easton (44 Chapters #4)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via InkSlinger PR.

I'm embarrassed to admit that it took me seeing the sign-up form for Suit to get me off my proverbial lazy butt and read my way through BB Easton's earlier releases--44 Chapters About 4 Men and the first three 44 Chapters novels, Skin, Speed, and Star--but I'm always happy to make time for reads as fabulous as this author's have proven to be. But let's focus our attention on this new release of hers because, hello, I know how it's been sitting prettily on many a "highly anticipated reads" list. Just a quick note: the books in this spin-off series can be read as standalones, and same goes for Easton's memoir. However, I'm going to go ahead and suggest that the books be read in the order they were published, simply because they're all awesome and it makes for much better reading.

Suit is the story of how then-twenty-year-old Brooke Bradley--best known to the rest of us as BB--met and fell in love with "the one", then-twenty-three-year-old Kenneth Easton--best known to fans and readers as Ken. BB has a type, and Ken, well he wasn't it. If you'd asked her, she would have probably pointblank told you that she preferred her boys bad, and Ken had the good guy vibe. And seriously, he was too nice (she needed naughty), too clean-cut (she liked it dirty), too...everything BB wasn't drawn to. All of that was basically synonymous to snooze which basically equates to lose...r. So, no thank you. But the more time she spent around Ken, the more BB found herself wanting to get to know him better. When she delves deeper, will he remain simply a challenge or something more?

There's a lot of lighthearted humor in this book, but there's also quite a bit of angst added into the mix, and that proved to be a surprise but the kind that I really liked (angst addict here!). BB and Ken's love story made my heart happy and hearty while also making it thump faster during those times where I wish it were possible to give them both hugs. Would it be totally wrong to admit that you're fangirling over an author's husband? No? Totally fist-pumping here. I know I'm not the only who fell for the Ken on those virtual pages, but the best part is that this book boyfriend actually exists and he's already living his happily-ever-after. I read these books one after the other, and while I loved the ones that came before it, I'm playing favorites with Ken, erm, I mean Suit. This gets five stars. ♥
