Review: This Love by Kelly Elliott (Cowboys & Angels #6)

Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via InkSlinger PR.

We're at book number six and Kelly Elliott's Cowboys & Angels, and I'm still enjoying the heck out of the Parker siblings and their respective journeys to their happily-ever-afters. Five of them are happily committed to their partners, and now we're on to twenty-seven-year-old Cord Parker, who doesn't really hide the fact that he's been busy with the ladies nor is he apologizing for it either. Most of his siblings may be settling down and doing the whole "till death do us part" thing, but not Cord. He's more than happy to play the field and get what he needs when he needs it without have to be saddled with commitment. And then he meets Maebh O'Sullivan, the twenty-five-year-old owner of Aisling, the new Irish pub in town. She's nothing like the women Cord usually goes for, and that's a fact that makes Maebh think that he would never be attracted to someone like her. But there's something about Maebh that draws Cord in, and she's wrong if she thinks he doesn't see her as a beautiful woman. He knows that Maebh deserves better than he can offer her...but can this cowboy really stay away from his Irish lass for long?

Ah, the power of true love! Who says manwhores can't turn over a new leaf? Because let's face it, Cord was very much one, and it took someone like Maebh to make him realize that falling in love was a good thing, and that he actually was built for commitment. Yeah, there were a few times where I seriously wanted to smack him upside the head for his less than stellar behavior when it came to his more, erm, intimate activities. However, there's no denying that Cord actually was a good guy all throughout. It was just a matter of him coming to his senses and finally pursuing the woman that he both wanted and needed. I'm actually glad that the path to a happy ending wasn't all that well-paved for Cord and Maebh because then it not only made things far more interesting, but it also felt as if that they would have a better appreciation for their relationship. And now that we've got six out of the Parker siblings falling in love, there's just one left, and that sneak peek of the final book has me excited, but I think I'm going to have some head smacking in the future once again. I'm giving This Love 4.5 stars out of five stars. ♥
