Review: Smitten in Lake Mistletoe by Amber Kelly (Lake Mistletoe #2)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Wordsmith Publicity.

Amber Kelly takes readers back to the small town of Lake Mistletoe with the second book in the series by the same name. Smitten in Lake Mistletoe introduces us to Hannah Whitmar and Brannigan Prince, the former being the cousin of Kellar Harris (Lake Mistletoe, book one) and the latter being the best friend and business partner of Kellar. While Hannah loves her job as an event planner, one who specializes in weddings, she's come to realize that she's spent the past four years focused on nothing else but work. She's finally taking some time off to be with her aunt and uncle and cousins in Lake Mistletoe, Idaho. This is meant to be a hard-earned vacation before returning to Vegas and proving yet again that she deserves a promotion. She's a planner and she's great at it; however, Hannah hadn't planned on meeting Bran and the impact he would have on her.

This book had, hands down, one of the most unforgettable meet-cutes I've come across in recent memory. Talk about Hannah making an impact on Bran, and literally at that! It was darn easy to like these two, and I appreciated that they forged a friendship while getting their flirt on as well. This was a fairly lighthearted read, with a bit of angst to it. There is conflict, but thank goodness it wasn't overly dramatized nor was the resolution prolonged. It was obvious that Hannah and Bran shared a connection, with an ease to them. Yes, Hannah lived and worked in Vegas, and this was supposed to be nothing more than a vacation, but you know what they say: love doesn't care what your plans may be. Aside from the main characters, the supporting cast was a source of humor for readers and guidance for Hannah and Bran. All in all, Smitten in Lake Mistletoe is a 4.5-star read.
