Review: Love You More by Julia Kent (Love You, Maine #3)

We're back in Love You, Maine with the third full-length novel in Julia Kent's Love You, Maine series. Love You More features Colleen Luview and Moore Mottin. She's thirty-five, a nurse, and is infamous for her dating woes; he's thirty-three, a single father to a teenage son, a jeweler in the family business, and has had a bad streak when it comes relationships. He's her younger brother Luke's best friend and has known him for forever. She's also had a thing for him since they were teens, but he's also the reason why she has that darn nickname that she abhors. When a major snowstorm leaves them with no choice but to take refuge in an old cabin, they end up acting on long-held feelings. But once the storm has passed and they've been "rescued" in a way that leaves everyone involved kinda-sorta-maybe traumatized, Colleen and Moore are at a loss as to what's next for them. Can they now overcome the odds and fight for the love they both deserve?

What is it about Julia Kent's writing that makes my cynical, wary heart get all mushy?! This town of Luview, Maine and its myriad of uniquely quirky and kooky residents, well, there's no resisting them. I must confess, though, that Colleen Luview and Moore Mottin's story had that bit of something that just made it stand out even more than the other books in the series that came before it. I couldn't help but feel for these main characters and everything they went through before and after they got together. They were two people who deserved their happily-ever-after, and maybe all it took was for them to realize that they were meant to be with the one person who was always there--each other. I laughed, got teary-eyed a couple of times, and most of all, I simply fell in love with Colleen and Moore. While Love You More may be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the Love You, Maine series in order. Book three snags five-plus stars.

Review: The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan (Roommates #1)

I do believe I've found myself a new book boyfriend to drool, erm, swoon over in Cannon Roth, male main character in bestselling author Kendall Ryan's Roommates series starter, The Room Mate . This had a familiar romance trope--falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling--and yet I didn't find it boring or tiresome in any way. This has both heart and heat as well as lighthearted humor along with a bit of heart-tugging angst and it's headlined by a couple of main characters that I was totally smitten with from the moment Paige got a pretty good idea of just how much her best friend's younger brother Cannon had grown up from the nerdy boy who followed them around like a puppy when they were kids.
