About the Westbrook series
The Westbrook series is a collection of Young Adult (YA) stories from author Laura Clark that follows a group of teenagers who call the community of Brookville home and are either currently or have graduated from Westbrook High. With a mix of personalities, readers follow the characters on their quest as they make sense of their lives now and what awaits them in the future. Read about them falling in like and love and falling out of what they thought was love and learning more about themselves and each other.

There are currently three available books in the series: Distraction, Numb, and Laws of Motion. This trilogy centers on Laila Patterson and the summer and senior year that changes her life and views on true love. Along for the ride are her best friend, Avery Brookes; her older brother, Kyle Patterson; her older brother's best friend and the guy Laila's had a crush on for years, Sam Woodson; and a returning friend who drives her to distraction, Trevor Maddox.

A fourth book entitled Playlist, featuring Avery Brookes and Kyle Patterson as the main characters, is slated for release in 2016.

by Laura Clark
Release Date: August 22, 2015

About Distraction
Seventeen-near-old Laila Patterson, would never describe her heart as fickle. She understands the difference between reality and fantasy, which is why Sam Woodson is not realistic boyfriend material. After all, he is in college, and college boys simply do not date high school girls. Plus, he is Laila’s older brother’s best friend. According to the unspoken bro-code, messing around with your friend’s little sister is pretty high on the list of forbidden taboos.

What happens when Laila discovers that her secret crush on Sam isn’t quite so one-sided? What if the only way to keep him is to keep their relationship hush-hush? Is Sam worth all of the lying and sneaking around?

As if things weren’t confusing enough with Sam, an old family friend suddenly shows up after being gone for more than three years. She isn't expecting Trevor Maddox to move back to Westbrook. She isn't expecting him to attend her high school, and she certainly isn't expecting him to be so damned gorgeous.

Laila doesn't want or need this unexpected distraction. . . or does she?

About Laura Clark

Laura Clark loves to read, design, and write. Convinced that she is really just a seventeen-year-old girl at heart, it's no wonder that she is writing Young Adult fiction. She lives in the Midwest with her husband, daughter, and son. Her passion for writing fiction dates back to early childhood, when she first learned to put a pencil on paper. Being able to share her passion and imagination with readers brings her the greatest joy. The Westbrook series began as a short story that morphed into a book. Before she knew what was happening, the characters took on a life of their own, and as a result, the series was born.
