Review: "Snowcroft Safehouse" by Christi Snow (Men of Snowcroft #2)

Note: This ARC was provided by Season Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Being the frontman of the Black Rainbows meant the world to Declan "Dex" Jasper. He made music and performed with his three closest friends, men he considered his family. One night changed that all. He lost his band in an explosion that killed the three guys and badly injured Dex. Now, he's under witness protection and FBI Agent Lawrence "Law" Wyman has been tasked to keep watch over him until the trial of the man accused of masterminding the explosion. With a new identity and no longer looking the rock star he once was, he and Law are now brothers, Finn and Law Alexander, in Snowcroft, New Mexico.

Becoming a band teacher in the town's middle school is as close to music as Finn is going to get at the moment. Reminders of his band's music can bring on panic attacks and he still suffers through nightmares. Finn hasn't been able to create anything new since the explosion but being around Kelsey Walker, one of his new students, helps him find a kindred spirit. Kelsey's father, bar owner Jack Walker, is also a more than pleasant distraction, but Jack hasn't openly divulged his sexuality and Finn isn't share if he's ready to add being kept a secret to all the other secrets he's already hiding from Jack and everyone else.

Snowcroft Safehouse is the second book in the Men of Snowcroft series by Christi Snow and has a rock musician in hiding and a bar owner and single father who isn't open with his sexuality falling for one another. Finn Alexander, aka Dex Jasper, is keeping secrets from Jack Walker, and Jack is keeping one secret from almost every single person other than Finn. They both have reasons for hiding the truth, with Finn's being a necessary evil. But keeping secrets usually leads to telling lies, and basing a relationship on a handful of lies can affect any relationship, even one as life changing as what Finn and Jack share.

Aside from adoring Dex/Finn and Jack, Law Wyman was a supporting character that I couldn't get enough of. He was briefly introduced in the first book, Snowcroft Lost, and the loss he suffered then is one he obviously carries with him. If anyone deserves a happily-ever-after, it's Law. So, naturally, I'm looking forward to book three in this romantic suspense series. The love story is perfectly balanced with the suspense thriller aspect of the book and the pacing and development is guaranteed to keep you from entertained. Snowcroft Lost was a joy to read and I can't wait for more from the series! 4.5 stars! ♥
