Review: "Meant for You" by Samantha Chase (The Montgomery Brothers #5)

Note: This ARC was provided by Sourcebooks Casablanca via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Her family may think she's flighty, unable to settle down long enough to commit to a certain career path, and that, in a family like the Montgomerys, isn't a stamp of approval for Summer Montgomery. Now, she's been in Portland to help out with the family business after being called in by her Uncle William. Her brother Zach is beyond frustrated having her around, thinking she's more of a nuisance than anything else. He's about to go on a climb and the last thing he needs is to track Summer down after she upped and disappeared. That's when his best friend and vice president of the company Ethan Reed decides to step in.

He knows a lot of people see him as more of a follower than a leader but Ethan Reed is a good guy. He's always there whenever he's needed and he's an asset to the Montgomerys, who consider him as more than Zach's best friend; he's family. He's known Summer for almost as long as he's known Zach but while he may not think of her as a nuisance, he's realized she's become a distraction. As much as he's drawn to her, he knows getting involved with her would have her family voicing their loud opinions. To them, no one will ever be good enough for Summer, even if it happens to be someone they liked and respected like Ethan.

Meant for You is the fifth full-length novel and sixth release in The Montgomery Brothers series by Samantha Chase. For the Robert Montgomery-led clan, who are the cousins of the original set of brothers from the William Montgomery-led clan, this is the third story but the first one overall that features a sister instead of a brother. The next book will probably focus on Zach but it was nice having a book that had a Montgomery female, though, of course, she was surrounded by very protective Montgomery males. William's matchmaking is still in full force and it's obvious that he's different from his brother Robert.

This was an enjoyable read and I liked Summer and Ethan together, though I did want to give him a shake when he was hesitant about letting Summer's family about their relationship. My favorite character had to be Gabriella Martine, Zach's assistant and the one I suspect will be partnered with him by matchmaker extraordinaire William. She was independent, organized, and intelligent. She called it like it is but was still sensitive and caring. If book six is indeed about Zach and Gabriella, I'll definitely be looking forward to reading their story. Ryder and James, the two other Montgomery brothers, also make appearances here.

One of my favorite things about this book was how Ethan stood up for Summer in front of her father and siblings, proving that even though he didn't outright admit to their relationship and his feelings in the beginning, he truly cared about her and was willing to defend her. Another thing I liked was Summer proving to Ethan and her family that she isn't as useless in the work area as they assumed. There was a point, though, that Summer was a bit clueless and I'm just glad that Gabriella had the common sense to point several things to her regarding Ethan. Go, Gabriella! ^.^ Meant for You gets four out of five stars. ♥
