Review: "Full Contact" by Sarah Castille (Redemption #3)

Note: This ARC was provided by Sourcebooks Casablanca via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

There's a reason why Ray Black's ring name is "The Predator" but he's been known to sow fear in the hearts of people inside and outside of the ring. He keeps countless secrets as well as a certain amount of distance, not willing to bring anyone into the darkness that's been shadowing him for years. But when he notices Sia O'Donnell at one of his underground mixed martial arts (MMA) fights, he can't seem to resist the lure of her beauty and light. The minute he comes in contact with her, he knows he could destroy her.

Both Ray and Sia instinctively know that being together could lead to disaster, especially if the naysayers around them are to be believed, some of whom tell them it'd be best to stay away from one another. Ray may have his share of things he'd rather keep from Sia but Sia is hiding a traumatic event that's still haunting her. Can there ever be a future for two broken people who have held on to their secrets for far too long and when their truths come out, will they be able to look at each other the same way they do now?

The Redemption series appears to be getting better with each book that's released! Full Contact is the third and latest novel and I admit it: I can't get enough of Team Redemption! While I was surprised to find out that Ray was partnered with Sia (I was expecting him to be with Penny, whose last name I can't recall), they seem to have this full-on chemistry going on, making them perfect lead characters. Ray has intrigued me from the get-go and Sia has that irresistible mix of naughty and nice. He was like the dark to her light.

This latest installment to the series has a hint of suspense thriller to it, something I appreciated since it added a new dimension to Ray and Sia's love story. There's also a side story involving Tag, aka Fuzzy and is Sia's older brother, that's included. He carries the burden of what happened to Sia. I actually thought that the third book would be about him and Shayla (aka as Shilla the Killa and whose last name also escapes me). But hey, I'm all for the falling for the sister's best friend/falling for the best friend's brother angle.

Book three felt darker and more intense than the first two books and it could have everything to do with the secrets that both Ray and Sia were keeping. There were a few twists to the story, some I saw coming, the others surprising me. I thoroughly enjoyed reading all three books back-to-back-to-back, but if I had to choose which one is my favorite, it would definitely be Full Contact and I would happily recommend it to my fellow bookaholics. Steamy, sweet, and full of secrets, this contemporary romance gets five stars! ♥
