Review: "Fighting for Keeps" by Seleste deLaney (Agents of TRAIT #3)

Note: This ARC was provided by Entangled Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Jodi Israel doesn't mind being behind the scenes in the Tactical Response and Investigative Team (TRAIT); she actually prefers it that way. Her late partner always questioned her actions and decision, not listening to sound advice, which later caused him to do something unprepared and costing him his life. When Jodi is assigned to new recruit Finn Darby, his cockiness and hard-headedness reminds her all to well of her former partner and things between them become strained and heated, causing a lot of discord.

Jodi and Finn push each other's buttons but for them to become an effective team, they'll need to learn to work together instead of against each other. And they'll have to do it quickly because they've been assigned to play babysitter to the daughter of a senator. It may seem like a no-brainer of a task, but soon after they arrive at the daughter's residence, strange things begin to happen and Jodi and Finn must figure out what's going on, especially since it looks like someone's after Jodi and is willing to do everything to get her.

Fighting for Keeps is book number three in Seleste deLaney's romantic suspense series Agents of TRAIT. Here we've got Jodi Israel and Finn Darby and they're assigned together, something neither of them is really excited about. While her boss believes she's ready to return to the field, Jodi's hesitant and being partnered with someone who reminds her too much of her dead partner isn't helping. She's the senior agent but Finn isn't too thrilled about having to take his orders from someone who obviously dislikes him.

I so enjoyed this third book and loved the enemies to lovers feel of it as well as the fact that they're co-workers. There's an attraction that's there but they don't particularly like each other very much so reading about them learning to work together and then earning each other's trust and respect made for an entertaining read. This book had action, romance, suspense, and a hint of the paranormal, so there were thrills in all forms. Fighting for Keeps is my favorite book in the series, so far, and is getting 4.5 stars! ♥
