Emma Taylor and Colton Evans were once in love and engaged, but when their careers were going to take them in different directions, everything ended on a sour note. Nearly three years later, Emma's still being listed as Colton's emergency contact has her picking him at an emergency room. Soon, she's offering him a place to stay and recuperate from his injuries from the war and from a bar room brawl. They begin to weed through the issues that they had to face while they were still a couple, and Colton makes it clear that he wants another chance at being with Emma this coming holiday season and for the rest of their lifetimes.

Second Chance Christmas is a holiday novella about a couple who get one more shot at mending fences and proving to themselves and each other if they're really meant to be together and was written by author Ellen Butler. The issues that led them to end their engagement don't really exist this time around because of Colton's physical situation. There are more options for him, and so I didn't really get why Emma seemed so adamant at pointing out that they wouldn't work out because of their careers. Still, Second Chance Christmas was an overall pretty good 3.5-star read and one that would work well this Christmas. ♥
