Review: Because I Love You by Jeannie Moon (Forever Love #6)

Note: This ARC was provided by Berkley Publishing Group via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Leah Bayard doesn't have time for anything other than her career and she quite prefers it that way. She's been hurt one time too many and trusting another man with her heart is a risk she's simply not ready to take. That doesn't mean she isn't tempted to be with someone and the one man who tempts her most is none other than Tristan Wade. They've become the closest of friends, but there's an attraction there that's begging to be explored, and when they finally do, neither is prepared for just how good it is between them. Leah doesn't want to lose their friendship in case things go south, but Tristan has never met a woman who makes him crave as much as Leah does. She may be his friend's sister and she may be more work than others, but Tristan could never forgive himself if he didn't give what they have the chance that it deserves.

Because I Love You is the sixth novel in author Jeannie Moon's much-loved Forever Love contemporary romance series. Both Leah Bayard, a securities attorney, and Tristan Wade, the new CFO for Reliance Software, are career-driven individuals who shy away from commitment. They've built a solid friendship and spend time together in a very platonic manner. They spend one unforgettable night together and while Leah makes it clear that she doesn't want anything beyond friendship, Tristan begins to tweak their relationship. Casual get-togethers have become more romantic outings and it's only a matter of time before the two start to fall for each other. This isn't a case of insta-love for the two, but it's only when they cross the line between friends and lovers that they see that possibilities of something much more do exist.

I've enjoyed the Forever Love series and this sixth and latest addition to it is one of my favorites. I liked the whole friends-to-lovers aspect of the story, and while the transition seemed really easy for both Leah and Tristan, these two were tested in more ways than one. Tristan has intrigued me from the moment he was first introduced in The Boyfriend List and I was glad that I didn't have to wait too long to read his story. He's got a few secrets that he's keeping from Leah, though I don't think that it was done with malice, and while that may cause some to dock points from him, I need to give him double points for how he stood up for Leah when she was dealing with her rift with her brother--and Tristan's best friend--Nate. I suggest you read the books in the series in order for a better reading experience. 4.5 stars for Because I Love You! ♥
