If you asked me what my all-time favorite novella is, regardless of it being a standalone or part of a series, I wouldn't hesitate to name Laura Kaye's Hearts in Darkness, which I read in August of 2013 and was my very first Laura Kaye read. For two years, I was more than happy thinking that this novella was a standalone, but I admit that I always wondered what Makenna James and Caden Grayson would be up to if their story had continued...
