Review: Summer Storm by L. Wilder (Satan's Fury MC #0.5)

Summer Storm is the prequel novella to author L. Wilder's second MC romance series entitled Satan's Fury MC. Stealing something that belongs to someone else is one thing, but when you steal from the Satan's Fury motorcycle club, the consequences are bound to be dire. When someone dares to take property belonging to the MC and then goes into hiding, Guardrail, the club's vice president, is tasked to find out where the thief is and to demand payment--and not necessarily the kind of payment that's monetary in nature. Using his given name, he sets in motion a plan to get close to the thief's sister, but you know what they say about well-laid out plans. The MC wants revenge, but if everything does go according to plan, Guardrail could very well end up losing the only girl that's ever made him want to believe in more.

Allison Parker knows what its like to be a ward of the state and to end up in the foster care system. Now working in the Department of Children's Services, she's made project head of the youth center and is fielding bids from contractors. One stands out and soon, her email exchanges with Kane Blackwood of SF Construction go from professional to friendly and flirty. There's an instant connection between the two of them, but it does take a while before anything more than emails happens. There's a bit of suspense thrown into the mix, and with this being a novella, the story was paced rather quickly. Aside from Allie and Guardrail, readers are introduced to memorable members of the MC as well as one particular female who seems to be more than just a "sweet butt". All in all, Summer Storm was a good and easy read. Four stars. ♥
