Review: Back to You by Claudia Burgoa (Chaotic Love #2)

Back to You is the second and final book in the Chaotic Love series penned by Claudia Burgoa and it picks up right about the point where book one, Begin with You left off. Abigail Lyons was taken and Weston Ahern was at a complete loss. All he's ever wanted was to protect the woman he loves from any and all harm, but even after she's been rescued from her abductor, Wes is forced to stand back and let those who know what she truly needs take better care of his Abby. He's in a tailspin of his own, and even though he keeps in touch with Abby in the beginning, the time comes when Wes cuts of communication, realizing that he needs to get his life in order if he hopes to be the kind of man Abby deserves. When weeks turn into months and months into years and Wes and Abby continue to lead their respective lives, will too much time have passed before these two make their way back to each other?
This was an emotional conclusion to Burgoa's emotional duology about finding love and finding your true self. I liked that Abby's abduction was resolved in a fairly timely manner, but the period wherein the only interaction that Abby and Wes had was through letters was far lengthier. I don't expect what Abby went through and Wes's own battles to be resolved all that quickly, but it felt as if too much time was spent with them doing their own thing. Even when they finally found their paths crossing again, it took me awhile to feel that connection between them. As a result, I found myself distracted by none other than Sterling Ahern, Wes's younger brother, who seems to be a truly good guy and someone I hope will find his own happily-ever-after in the romance department. While this duet may not be one of my favorites from Burgoa, it was still a satisfying enough read. Four stars go to Back to You. ♥
