Review: Moments for You by Carrie Ann Ryan (The Wilder Brothers #7)

Just when you thought all the Wilder siblings had found their respective happily-ever-afters, Carrie Ann Ryan has done her readers a solid by bringing in the Wilder cousins! Yup, we've got ourselves a new set of Wilder brothers, first cousins of the original six in the series. Moments for You is the seventh Wilder Brothers novel, and while it's part of the same series, it also feels like a spin-off of sorts. Or maybe that's just me. Either way, this was a story about a second chance to start over after tragedy for both the main characters. So yes, it's angsty and suspenseful, but it's also hopeful and does end happily!

Thirty-one-year-old pastry chef Aurora Lee lost her beloved husband, William, five years ago, but their time together was filled with happy memories. When she learns of a bride who has lost her wedding dress, Aurora offers hers as a temporary replacement. In turn, she's invited to the wedding and leaves with a job offer from Wilder Retreat. The presence of security specialist Ridge Wilder is an unexpected bonus. This could be her chance at a new beginning, but Ridge is no stranger to tragedy, and falling for Aurora could open him up to experiencing loss all over again, especially when the past returns...

My favorite thing about this book had to be Aurora. She was a woman who was determined to move forward, but she didn't diminish the life she shared with her late husband while creating a better present and future for herself. Ridge was someone who knew the kind of pain that she endured, and I think Aurora was able to help bring him out of the shadows. Like the other books in the series, there's a bit of suspense mixed into all the romance, and it does help if you've read the previous novels because there are recurring characters. Moments for You gets four stars, and I can't wait for more Wilders!
