Review: Coming Home for Us by Carrie Ann Ryan (The Wilder Brothers #4)

I knew Elijah Wilder's story was going to be a heartrending one, and it was obvious who he was going to be paired with. After all, Maddie Swift's feelings for him weren't quite a secret--except maybe to Elijah himself. Theirs is the fourth full-length novel in the Wilder Brothers  series, and Coming Home for Us is a story about having the courage to stay and fight for love, family, and home. Like the books that came before it, this may be read as a standalone, but I do recommend that it be read in order, especially given the fact that the series is about one family and there are potential spoilers about previous happy endings.

When Elijah Wilder lost the woman he loved to an accident, he swore he would never fall in love again. He made that vow in front of another woman he was close to--Maddie Swift, Wilder Wines's wine club and tasting manager and a dear friend of the family's. In the two years since, Maddie has become an even more integral part of Wilder Wines and her bond with the Wilders was undeniable. Yet the urge to leave it all behind and move forward has Maddie thinking of life beyond Wilder Wines--beyond Elijah and her unrequited feelings. But will it all change after a work trip leaves them in close quarters?

When Elijah and Maddie headed off to that festival, it was pretty obvious it would lead to far more...intimate...festivities between these two. But they're happily-ever-after wasn't one that was easily attained. They had their issues and insecurities as individuals that affected there relationship, and goodness, but how my heart ached in empathy for both Elijah and Maddie. As far as the Wilders as a whole go, I appreciated that they were supportive yet didn't hesitate to point out the missteps of one of their own when necessary. I swear, I can't get enough of them. Coming Home for Us easily snags 4.5 stars.

Review: The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan (Roommates #1)

I do believe I've found myself a new book boyfriend to drool, erm, swoon over in Cannon Roth, male main character in bestselling author Kendall Ryan's Roommates series starter, The Room Mate . This had a familiar romance trope--falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling--and yet I didn't find it boring or tiresome in any way. This has both heart and heat as well as lighthearted humor along with a bit of heart-tugging angst and it's headlined by a couple of main characters that I was totally smitten with from the moment Paige got a pretty good idea of just how much her best friend's younger brother Cannon had grown up from the nerdy boy who followed them around like a puppy when they were kids.
