Review: Let's Do This by Loren Leigh (IFU Hockey #1)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author.

I fell in love with Loren Leigh's writing while reading her debut, Always, which is the first book in her Indigo Falls series, so when I heard that she had a new series starter in the works, I was counting the days until I could get my greedy hands on it. Basically, my expectations were high, and my hopes were even higher, and suffice it to say, Let's Do This, book number one in Leigh's IFU Hockey series, met every single one of those, making me a very giddy-with-happiness, M/M romance-loving, unapologetic bookaholic.

Let's Do This introduces readers to Shaw Keenan and Eden Burkehammer, the main characters of this IFU Hockey series starter. Shaw is a college junior on a scholarship and the goalie for IFU Wolfpack hockey team. On the other hand, Burk is a senior and a defenseman for the same team. They've been best friends and housemates over the past couple of years, with Shaw thinking he knew everything there was to know about his Burkie. But then the arrival of a package for Burk has Shaw realizing he needs to get to know his bestie much better...and maybe get to know himself even more in the process.

There was simply no resisting Shaw and Burk and their swoon-worthy love story. This had a lot of humor to it, with lighthearted moments, not just between the two, but also when it came to the interactions within the Wolfpack, as well as with Shaw's family. But there was also a dash of angst, enough to satisfy even an angst addict like me. I loved seeing Shaw and Burk's relationship evolve, going from teammates and friends to lovers and then far more than they probably expected. Once they had decided to cross that proverbial line, they were committed to seeing things through and figuring things out. Let's Do This had romance, hockey, and all the good stuff in between. This gets five stars!
