Review: Bridesmaid for Hire by Meghan Quinn (Bridesmaid for Hire #1)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by Bloom Books.

Bridesmaid for Hire is the next novel in the Almond Bay series, and for longtime readers of the author, there may be quite a few cameos from much loved characters within the pages of this series starter, just saying. All that being said, you can read this book as a standalone, so if you're new to Quinn and her writing, consider this a good introduction.

Maggie Mitchell is ready for some fun in the sun. She's heading to Bora Bora for a much deserved vacation--a reward for the success her event-planning business is experiencing. Her sworn enemy who just happens to be her brother's best friend, Brody McFadden, is heading there. His boss's daughter is getting married, and it's considered the wedding of the century. It could be a mutually beneficial setup for both; all it would require is pretending to be a couple. That is, if they don't end up killing--or kissing for real--each other first.

The dating may have been fake, but the romantic comedy feels certainly were not! If bickering were a sport, Maggie and Brody would have the top spot in the bag. Of course, they'd be a shoo-in when it came to banter, as well, because if Meghan Quinn know her way around witty banter, if I do say so myself. I enjoyed Maggie and Brody's story, and the cameo appearances from several notable MQ characters were a much appreciated bonus. 4.5 stars for Bridesmaid for Hire.
