Review: Edge of Trust by Freya Barker (Arrow's Edge MC #6)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Buoni Amici Press.

After a year and a half, Freya Barker takes readers back to Colorado and the motorcycle club that many have grown to love, the Arrow's Edge MC, with the sixth novel in the series by the same name. Edge of Trust is Hank "Honon" Wicks and Emmeline Lightfoot's story. Honon is part of Arrow's Edge and manages the gun range for the club; Emme is an metalworks artist who works as a bartender at Backyard Edge, also owned by the club. The two have known each other for a few years, but he's never shown any bit of interest in her in all that time. So when an altercation ends up with Emme getting hit in the face and Honon's protective instincts kick in, she can't help but wonder why. Then she finds herself in a situation wherein she realizes she won't be able to go it alone. Reaching out to Honon was something she did without much hesitation, and now, he's all in and makes it clear that he won't be leaving her side. Trust doesn't necessarily come easily to either of them, but they quickly learn that there's no one they could trust their lives and hearts more than each other, and having the club's support will be crucial to survive.

As always, Freya Barker struck that fine balance of romance and suspense in this latest addition to her Arrow's Edge MC series. I love that her main characters are older--Emme is forty, and I'm guessing Honon is in his forties as well--and have done their fair share of living. I don't want to give away too many details because I don't want this review to be spoiler-like, especially since the blurb doesn't share a whole lot of specifics story-wise. What I will say is that Emme and Honon have a great deal of depth to them, yet there's still character development for both. The story itself was intriguing, and I loved the romance between the main characters as much as I did the side story regarding the club itself. The Arrow's Edge MC truly is about brotherhood, becoming the family that many of those who are now part of it have been looking for. Everything plays out at a steady pace, and once again, I'm left hoping we haven't seen the last of the Arrow's Edge MC, and that this author still has a few tales to tell. Five stars for Edge of Trust.
