Two world collide--in the best ways possible--when Jillian Braden and Johnny Bad cross paths, giving way to Rocked by Love by Melissa Foster, the tenth book in the Bradens & Montgomerys: Pleasant Hill - Oak Falls series and it's a crossover with the the Bad Boys After Dark world. When thirty-four-year-old Johnny finds out that he could potentially have a fourteen-year-old daughter named Zoey, he's at a total loss. He may know how to capture the hearts of millions with his music, but he's unsure how to be a father to a girl with fortified walls around her own heart. Seeing Zoey interact with Jillian gives him an idea. She could be a buffer between him and the daughter he wants to get to know, and in exchange, the thirty-year-old fashion designer can work on his wardrobe for his upcoming tour. While he may be a rock superstar and she has a fashion empire, both are grasping at straws when it comes to being a parent. But together, they could possibly fashion a plan and rock being a parent, guardian, role model...and maybe even a family.
When Melissa Foster is good, she's very good; but when she's Bad, she's so much better. See what I did there? I love having another Bad to swoon over, and the whole single parent trope is one of my top three favorite romance tropes, so I was one heck of a happy camper. Whenever Foster merges two existing book universes of hers, it always feels like a milestone event, and such was the case with Jillian and Johnny's story. But this was also Zoey's story, and I really hope she gets her romantic happily-ever-after sometime in the future. Seeing the relationships these three built with care and caution made their coming together as a family unit even more meaningful. They had to work on communication and trust, and then they had to realize that loving one another may have come with risks, but those were risks worth taking. I may not have read all of the books in the Bradens & Montgomerys: Pleasant Hill - Oak Falls series that came before this one, but that wasn't an issue in the least. Rocked by Love was a fantastic five-starred romance.
