eBook & Audio Review: Right Man, Right Time by Meghan Quinn, narrated by Stella Hunter & Jason Clarke (The Vancouver Agitators #3)

Right Man, Right Time is the third story in Meghan Quinn's Vancouver Agitators series, and it follows Kiss and Don't Tell (2021) and Those Three Little Words (2022). I read and listened to the book, with the audio edition narrated by Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke, and while this is part of a series, it does work well as a standalone for readers and listeners who have yet to read the first two books or are simply discovering the author's writing for the first time. Like the books one and two, this is a hockey romance with Quinn's unique brand of quirky comedy plus a ten-year age gap and mutually beneficial fake dating.

When twenty-one-year-old college student Oliana "Ollie" Owens from Portland, Oregon unexpectedly runs into her jerk of an ex--an ex who replaced Ollie with her nemesis--she decides to make a stand, and by that, she stands up and makes out with the hot stranger at the bar. Only the guy happens to be quite well-known. He's none other than thirty-one-year-old professional hockey player Silas Taters, and he's part of the Vancouver Agitators. In for a penny, in for a pound because the two decide to enter into a fake relationship. She'll rock her internship, he'll get his ex to stay away. Easy-peasy--as long as they stick to the agreed-upon rules. But when the rules are broken, will it mean their hearts will follow suite as well?

This is the kind of story that works wonderfully well when matched with just the right narrators. Stella Hunter and Jason Clarke brought that extra bit of oomph to to an already great tale of romance and hockey and everything in between. While the fake relationship trope isn't a go-to pick for me, Meghan Quinn's perfect blend of romance and comedy made Ollie and Silas's story one that I couldn't easily hit "pause" on. Heck, I barely took a break while listening to this in the twelve-plus hours it was playing through my speakers. But that's what happens when you've got as engaging a story and as pitch-perfect narration as the combo of Quinn, Hunter, and Clarke delivered. Right Man, Right Time easily earns itself five stars as an audiobook and an eBook, and I can't wait for even more books to come from this series!
