Review: Annoyed at First Sight by Lani Lynn Vale (Gator Bait MC #4)

We're back in Florida--traveling between the tiny coastal towns of Accident and Blue Ridge--with the fourth novel in Lani Lynn Vale's Gator Bait MC series. Annoyed at First Sight is the story of Cassius Costas and Alice Paradis. When he first notices her, she's all of eighteen and working at her family's marina, usually pumping gas into the variety of boats there--boats that included those that then-thirty-year-old Cassius piloted. After being sent to prison for assaulting the man his mother had been dating and Cassius suspected for her disappearance, five years pass before Alice sees the man who always caught her attention when she was a teenager. And just like before, it seems that Cassius is making a point of keeping his distance from Alice. But when she's attacked, he realizes that staying away was the wrong thing to do. After rescuing her, Alice feels safest in his arms, and that's where she'll forever stay if Cassius has a say in it. And what he says goes.
This was such a great addition to the Gator Bait MC series. All throughout the four books that are currently available, the story and cast of characters have remained entertaining and downright endearing. Cassius tried to resist the lure that was Alice, but experience taught him that was easier said than done. Aside from Alice's narcissist of a twin sister, she actually had a pretty good support system when it came to her family, i.e. her widower father and older brother. The rest of the ex-con motorcycle club that Cassius was part of were present and accounted for, plus the established couples. There's a wee bit of a twist in this book, one that I felt added an extra layer of interest, and I'm just glad things ended the way they did for everyone concerned. I'm giving Annoyed at First Sight 4.5 stars out of five stars, and a return visit to this quirky part of Florida is a MUST!
