Review: His Undeniable Secret by Shayla Black

Note: This ARC was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Originally released as part of the Alphas of Sin anthology, His Undeniable Secret is a short erotica romance written by bestselling author Shayla Black and has just been published on its own. This happens to be my very first read from the author and now I totally get why readers have raved about her gift for writing sexy and steamy love stories. This was a falling-for-your-sibling's-best-friend tale with a dirty spin to it and involved twenty-one-year-old Kayla who finds herself struggling with the sudden news that the only guy she's ever wanted is leaving her behind.

Oliver Ryan has owned Kayla heart for a few years now, only he has no idea that it's his for the claiming. He's always seen her as a little sister, what with her being his best friend's younger sister. When Kayla loses her brother to an accident, it's Oliver who's there to care for her even as they both mourned their loss. But when Oliver unexpectedly informs her that he's returning to London, Kayla doesn't understand why he would do something so devastating to her. She needs to find some way to convince her to stay and to see her as the woman she's become.

This was a really quick read, with almost everything save for the very end unraveling in one night. We get a fair idea of what Kayla and Oliver's joint past looked like and how they were joined together even more by their grief. Oliver turned out to be a bad boy Brit with a secret of his own. He had a filthy mouth that would have made even a brazen woman blush. This was good introduction to Shayla Black's writing, and I certainly wouldn't say "no" to reading more of her books in the future. His Undeniable Secret is a four-starred quickie that will quench your thirst. ♥
