Just in Time for Christmas by Kim Boykin is part of the Christmas-themed and multi-authored Southern Born Christmas series. I haven't had the pleasure of reading the other books in the series so I have no idea if they're connected to one another. This particular book read well as a standalone and since it's Christmas, I naturally had to read something holiday-related and this was a great choice!

Miranda Hamilton has always loved the Christmas season and she's thrilled at finally being given the chance to head the committee for all the activities. Proceeds for the events will be given to the breast cancer foundation created in honor of her late mother, so this is doubly important for her. The one kink in her plans is suddenly finding that she's co-chairing the committee with her longtime nemesis!

Logan Mauldin has never failed to notice one particular woman in Magnolia Bay and they've been at it since they were children. One shared first kiss at thirteen and another under the mistletoe years later are memories that still linger and Logan takes the opportunity to finally pursue her by donating to her mother's foundation and co-chairing the Christmas committee with her.

Sparks have always flown between Miranda and Logan, whether it's when they're sparring with one another or sharing a kiss under the mistletoe. However, Miranda doesn't want to be involved with Logan even though she can't stop thinking about him. Logan's feelings for her are deeper than even he anticipated and he's willing to do anything to make her his.

I loved the dynamic between Miranda and Logan, mainly because they were never vicious towards one another and you could tell that there was some sexual tension bubbling underneath the surface. The fact that their families and friends were more aware of something more going on between them than they were willing to admit to proves that actions speak louder than words.

Just in Time for Christmas was the perfect book to read this Christmas. It's a light, sweet, funny, and quick read and I recommend it to anyone wanting something along those veins to pick up this holiday season. The story was paced well and for a novella, you don't feel as if anything's missing or lacking. You've also got great and likable main characters that will make you smile. This gets 4 stars! ♥

Date read: 25 December 2014
