Review: Forever for Us by Carrie Ann Ryan (The Wilder Brothers #8)

You're always in for a wild ride with Carrie Ann Ryan's Wilder Brothers series. Forever for Us is the eight novel, and this go-around, we have ourselves an enemies-to-lovers romance. This one's pairs Wyatt Wilder with Ava London, his former best friend's ex-wife. Having his wife cheat on him was one thing, but finding out that she was cheating with his best friend made things far worse. Cutting ties with both was a no-brainer, and Wyatt refused to look back, choosing instead to focus on the bar and distillery he and his brothers owned and was part of the Wilder Retreat, which was owned by their cousins. But stumbling upon Ava and realizing how dire her circumstances were as a single mom to eight-year-old Faith had him offering his ex-best friend's former wife a better paying job and a place to stay at the retreat. Even back when they were married to their respective spouses, Wyatt and Ava were more frenemies than anything. Now, they're tied together, and while neither wants to revisit the past, could they have a future together?

Enemies-to-lovers is one of my personal favorite romance tropes. When done right, there's tension galore until that tipping point is reached and the main characters finally give in. Wyatt and Ava were such a formidable couple. They may not have been besties while they were still married to their cheating exes, but working together allowed them to forge a kinship of their own, having a better appreciation of what they went through pre- and post-divorce. Ava cherished her independence, but she also knew that rejecting Wyatt's help would have been foolish, especially because she had little Faith to consider. The easy acceptance the rest of the Wilders and their partners had when it came to Ava and Faith was par on the course for them, which is why I adore this family so much. There is a smidgen of suspense in the story, and it simply makes the romance aspect all the more enticing a read. And that bonus epilogue? Gah! I got all teary-eyed reading it. Forever for Us garners five stars, and I look forward to Gabriel's book!
