Review: Enticing Her Love by Melissa Foster (The Steeles at Silver Island #6)

I can't believe we've reached the end of the Steeles at Silver Island series! It's all so darn bittersweet, but that's what happens when you become addicted to the series that has a setting that's considered home by a cast of recurring characters. The good thing with Melissa Foster's numerous series is that they belong to a book universe where you're bound to cross paths with couples readers have fallen in love with in the past sooner or later. So, I guess I can't really be too heartbroken since this series ender means that the Steele siblings have all gotten their happily-ever-afters, and how can I be sad about that?

Enticing Her Love has Sutton Steele and Flynn Braden in a battle of wits and battling the elements while stuck together for three days in the middle of the Amazon rainforest. Sutton is a reporter for Discovery Show, and Braden is a survivalist and the driving force of the documentary program. The two have a tempestuous professional relationship and don't have much of a personal one, but when there's no other soul in sight and you only have each other to lean on, misconceptions and misunderstandings get stripped away...and maybe an article of clothing here and there. But lost inhibitions in the Amazon are one thing compared to handling newfound feelings once they return to Port Hudson.

I was honestly worried I was going to dislike Braden, especially seeing his interactions with Sutton early in the book. That isn't to say that she was some hapless individual; she gave as good as she got, even if he was her immediate superior. But it was all that tension between them that made them such an intriguing pair, and the more those protective layers were peeled away, the more I loved Braden and realized he and Sutton simply belonged together as equal partners. From the Amazon to Port Hudson and to Silver Island, I happily went along with these two on what turned out to be the ongoing adventure of their lifetime. Those last two chapters in Enticing Her Love made my heart giddy, and kudos to the author for the "twist" I didn't see coming. But this is easy enough to see--my five-rating for this enticingly engaging end to the Steeles of Silver Island series.
