Review: Tall, Dark & Charming by Erika Wilde (Tall, Dark & Sexy #1)

I realized a really sad fact right before I started reading Tall, Dark & Charming: This was going to be my first solo Erika Wilde ride. I mean, I've read Wilde's work before, but these were books she had co-written with fellow bestselling author Carly Phillips. The Tall, Dark & Sexy series starter was going to be my initial foray into her writing as a solo author. And let me tell you, I was totally and utterly charmed by this sweet and sexy office slash friends-to-lovers romance that began as colleagues and friends that turned into a hook-up in San Francisco and then into a very unexpected pregnancy! Who says that sort of thing can't lead to everlasting love?
Aiden Stone and Daisy Parker have been co-workers in Roth Owens Agency for the past three years, and while they've noticed each other in a more than professional manner, they've never acknowledged the attraction. Until one business trip in San Francisco has them agreeing to nothing more than one night together. After all, both know firsthand that love isn't something that can always be trusted or relied upon. They return to San Diego, continue to remain friends while working well side by side. Three months on, Aiden may still be tall, dark, and charming, but Daisy is beautiful, intelligent, and pregnant. Can a hook-up end in a happily-ever-after?
This was such a great, easygoing romance read. There wasn't a whole lot of drama nor was there an overly convoluted story line. At its very core, Tall, Dark & Charming was a feel-good love story that didn't skimp on the heat and left me with a satisfied smile on my face. I liked both Aiden and Daisy and while there were some familiar things that play out in their story, I liked the touches Erika Wilde added to make this her own. This being the first in a series, it was also nice to have glimpses into the rest of the Stone family, particularly Aiden's younger brothers, Leo and Dylan, both of whom I can't wait to get to know better. Book one receives five stars. ♥
