Review: Pull You Through by Kaylee Ryan

Pull You Through is a new adult (NA) romance with a hint of military romance to it. Penned by bestselling author Kaylee Ryan, this is the tale of a nearly nineteen-year-old young man from Michigan named Slade Reeves and how he found brotherhood with the Marine Corps but home in a small town, with families that weren't his home, and with an eighteen-year-old girl who made him believe in love. When Slade lost his beloved grandmother--the only person other than his late grandfather that he had ever considered family--signing up with the military became the only viable course of action for him. Thirteen weeks later, he found a core group of close friends he considered his brothers, and when one of them invites Slade to spend their ten-day furlough in Kentucky before going to infantry school, the last thing Slade expects is to meet and fall so in love with Austyn Wilson--his blue-eyed angel on earth.

Kaylee Ryan isn't a new-to-me author, but it has been awhile since I last read one of her books and this latest release of hers was a great way to re-experience her writing. I'd be hard-pressed to think of one thing that I didn't like about the cast of characters, especially with regards to both Slade and Austyn. While they were still technically teenagers, there were things that they were going to have to go through in the name of their relationship, and Slade even before that, no thanks to having parents who were more concerned over getting their next hit than taking care of their son. Slade and Austyn faced distance and unknowns like where Slade would get stationed and when and where he would be deployed and for how long. Yet through it all these two had the kind of love that even those decades older than them hoped for--the kind that persevered. Pull You Through easily garners 4.5 stars. ♥
