Ryan's Love is the beginning of the Sawyer Brothers series from author C.A. Harms. The first three books in this contemporary romance series is about the Sawyer brothers--Ryan, Noah, and Jackson--and the fourth one is about Olivia Sawyer, Ryan's daughter, who is introduced in this series starter as a teenager. Ryan Sawyer's story is a heartrending one, having unexpectedly lost his wife when he was thirty and forced to be a single parent to their daughter Olivia. Three years on, Ryan still feels the loss of Claire but he does his best to provide a secure and happy life for now fifteen-year-old Liv. He's never contemplated going on a date with another woman, but when he and his brother rescue a young woman and the newest resident of the Montana town from a flat tire, Ryan wonders if it's finally time to live again.

At twenty-five, Amber Dickerson has finally come to a decision: it's time for her to live her life for herself. She's leaving behind her cheating ex-boyfriend, a mother who only remembers her when she needs something, and a father who thinks money absolves him of being an absentee parent. Moving from Chicago to Montana and taking over her grandmother's bakery along with her best friend is a chance for her to start over. Then she meets the Sawyers, each one strikingly attractive, but it's the eldest brother who has her attention and makes her feel things she's never felt before. But Ryan Sawyer has endured a loss that still resonates and one that his teenage daughter rebelling in ways she never has before. As quickly as she finds herself falling for Ryan, is Amber willing to get between him and Olivia's relationship?

This story was super sweet, but it also had some bittersweet moments that broke my heart and brought a tear to my eye. Ryan is exactly the kind of man who deserves to get that second chance at love and his family never fails to encourage him to move forward. The closeness he shares with his parents, brothers, and daughter was touching and the guy simply couldn't get more perfect. He and Amber made for a great couple and I need to commend the author because the story certainly didn't always go in the direction I thought it was going to, which is a good thing in this case. The two other Sawyer brothers also have me curious because Noah and Jackson seem to be different from each other. Suffice it to say that Ryan's Love was one pleasant surprise of a read and one that has me wanting to continue on with this series. Five stars. ♥
