Review: The Good Girl by Nikki Sloane (Nashville Neighborhood #5)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Valentine PR.

Aaaaand we're back in the naughtiest neighborhood around! Nikki Sloane's newest release is The Good Girl, which is the fifth book in her Nashville Neighborhood series. I kid you not when I tell you that I'm rather, erm, addicted to this series. The books are about forbidden relationships--a college student and her ex-boyfriend's father (The Doctor), a divorcee and her best friend's son (The Pool Boy), a vet tech and her two demanding men (The Architect), and the frat guy and sorority girl turned on-cam adult entertainment talent (The Frat Boy). In the latest installment, we've got the virgin and her brother's best friend. The former is Sydney Novak, twenty and the younger sister of Colin Novak (The Frat Boy); the latter is Preston Lowe, twenty-four and the son of Dr. Gregory Lowe and ex-boyfriend of Cassidy Shepard (The Doctor). Sydney's had a crush on Preston for years, but after they shared one scorching hot kiss, he rejected her notion of them dating--because Preston didn't date, especially not a good girl like Sydney. A year later, he sees her again, and when she says she wants to be the good girl gone bad, he offers to help get her there.

Have you come across the saying "When I'm good, I'm good; when I'm bad, I'm better"? Well, Sydney could very well be the poster child for it. If Preston had any qualms about teaching her a thing or two about going from nice to naughty, the temptation to corrupt his best friend's sister was too great to resist for long. The usual hurdles are there, but add to that the fact that Preston's reputation precedes him and that Sydney's parents aren't fans of the guy they believe is a negative influence on both their children. While theirs was a relationship sparked by a crush (on her part) and lust (on his part), seeing these two do a whole lot of growing up while falling in love (and hooking up, of course) made for a really great read. Having read the Nashville Neighborhood from the beginning, I've been eager for Preston to get his own happily-ever-after whilst also seeing where Greg and Cassidy were in their relationship as a couple and their respective ones with Preston. Nikki Sloane did NOT disappoint, not when it came to this addition to the series or catching up with most of the others. Dare I hope for more? Five stars for The Good Girl.
