Review: Made for You by Natasha Madison (Made For #2)

Made for You is the second book in Natasha Madison's Made For series, and this go-around, we've got Vivienne Grant, one of Matthew and Karrie Grant's (Something So Perfect) children and sister of Cooper (Only One Regret), Frances (Only One Love), and Chase (Made for Me), who works in publishing. She's paired with Xavier Montgomery, a former professional hockey player who hung up his skates a couple of years prior to the events in the book. When Vivienne decides to buy a boat, cough*yacht*cough, to live on for the summer, her father isn't all that excited about the idea. Being docked next to a grump of a gorgeous man definitely dampens things a tad, but he's got an adorable dog named Beatrice, so Vivienne tolerate him for the four-legged cutie's sake. Then she begins to see a different side to Xavier. She wasn't looking to settle down, and he wasn't looking to be with anyone, but fate seems to have a totally different plan for Xavier and Vivienne.

I love how Vivienne and Xavier's story had a creative spin to it that set it apart from the rest of the stories in this book universe that Natasha Madison has put together. Same goes for the series starter, Made for Me, almost as if they take a teeny sidestep from a lot of the action on the ice but still has a connection to the hockey world these families belong to. I enjoyed getting to know Vivienne and Xavier, both of whom had interesting aspects to their back stories. Of course, the meddlesome yet well-meaning OGs were ever present, upping the entertainment factor. I'd also be remiss if I forget to mention Beatrice, adorable four-legged, furry scene (and heart) stealer! With a wonderful cast of characters and a story that had romance, humor, and angst, Made for You was fab five-starred read.

Review: The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan (Roommates #1)

I do believe I've found myself a new book boyfriend to drool, erm, swoon over in Cannon Roth, male main character in bestselling author Kendall Ryan's Roommates series starter, The Room Mate . This had a familiar romance trope--falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling--and yet I didn't find it boring or tiresome in any way. This has both heart and heat as well as lighthearted humor along with a bit of heart-tugging angst and it's headlined by a couple of main characters that I was totally smitten with from the moment Paige got a pretty good idea of just how much her best friend's younger brother Cannon had grown up from the nerdy boy who followed them around like a puppy when they were kids.
