Review: Then Came You by Kate Meader (Laws of Attraction #3)

There's something about a well-crafted second-chance romance that just gets to me, and Kate Meader did not disappoint. Then Came You is book three in her Laws of Attraction series, which features three divorce attorneys and best friends who share a law practice together. This final novel in the trilogy has had me the most curious, all thanks to all the questions I had about what led to the demise of the marriage between college sweethearts who were #couplegoals, only to see everything implode for them.

Grant Lincoln (31) and Aubrey Gates (30) have no problem going toe-to-toe in the courtroom, but they try to avoid each other outside of it. After all, they once exchanged vows and were madly in love with one another. No one quite knows the real story as to why it all fell apart, but what isn't a secret is the fact that they're divorced. Oh, except Aubrey's grandmother has no clue that they're no longer married, and Grant's been invited to her 90th birthday party. They're hiding one truth, but will all secrets be revealed?

From the very beginning of this series, I've wondered why the heck Grant and Aubrey had made the decision to divorce, and goodness, but heartbreaking is a rather mundane way to describe what they went through. Their story is a reminder that sometimes, love isn't enough, BUT love can also be the reason why you try again. I loved seeing them rebuild the trust and communication between them, and I couldn't have chosen a better way to end the Laws of Attraction series. Five stars go to Then Came You.
